Frequently Asked QuestionsStraightforward answers about how we work, what we support, and what you should expect from the process.
How do I know CareerDrift will actually work for my profile?+
We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Before recommending a strategy, we look at your experience, target roles, existing resume, LinkedIn and Naukri visibility, career history, and the roles you're applying for. If we believe your profile needs a different approach — or that we're not the right fit — we'd rather tell you that than sell you a program that isn't relevant.
What if I already have a good resume — do I still need CareerDrift?+
A good resume and an effective job search aren't necessarily the same thing. Your resume may be well-written but still not be positioned for the roles you're targeting, while your LinkedIn or Naukri profile, keywords, applications, targeting, and follow-ups may be limiting your results. We don't rewrite something just for the sake of rewriting it. If your resume is already strong, we focus on the gaps that are actually affecting your job search.
Will you actually apply to jobs for me, or just tell me where to apply?+
That depends on the program you choose. Our end-to-end Career Autopilot support includes identifying relevant opportunities and assisting with applications, tracking, referrals, and follow-ups. Career Catalyst focuses primarily on profile optimization, positioning, visibility, and strategy. The exact scope is always communicated before you purchase.
How many jobs will you apply to on my behalf?+
We don't believe in chasing an arbitrary application number. The focus is on relevant applications based on your target role, experience, location, compensation expectations, and actual job requirements. A smaller number of well-targeted applications can be more useful than hundreds of applications where your profile isn't a genuine match.
Will you apply to any job just to increase my application count?+
No. We don't consider application volume a meaningful success metric on its own. We prioritize roles where your background reasonably aligns with the requirements and where applying makes strategic sense. The goal isn't to make your tracker look busy; it's to improve the quality of your job search.
Can you help me get referrals, or do you only optimize my profile?+
Referrals can be part of our job-search strategy, depending on the program. However, we don't promise referrals as though they can simply be purchased. A referral ultimately depends on the availability of relevant employees, their willingness to refer, and the suitability of your profile. What we can do is help identify relevant opportunities and build a structured referral and outreach approach.
Can you help if I'm not getting shortlisted despite having relevant experience?+
Yes — and this is one of the situations where a backend review can be particularly useful. We look beyond whether you are qualified and examine whether your profile is communicating that qualification effectively. That can include resume positioning, ATS alignment, job targeting, Naukri and LinkedIn visibility, application strategy, and the gap between the roles you're targeting and how your profile currently presents you.
What if I'm targeting a very specific role or industry?+
That's absolutely possible. In fact, a specific target can make the optimization more focused because we can build your positioning around the roles, skills, terminology, and expectations relevant to that market. If your target market has very limited opportunities for your current profile, we'll tell you that rather than pretending otherwise.
What if I don't know what role I should be applying for?+
That's something we can help you figure out. We'll look at your experience, skills, career history, strengths, interests, and realistic market opportunities to identify roles that make sense for your profile. The goal isn't to give you a list of every job you could theoretically do. It's to narrow your search to realistic and relevant career directions.
Can CareerDrift help me switch roles or industries?+
Yes, where the transition is realistically achievable. We focus on identifying transferable skills, repositioning your experience, choosing appropriate target roles, and addressing gaps that could prevent you from being considered. We won't tell you that every career switch is easy. Some transitions require additional skills, projects, certifications, or a stepping-stone role.
What if I have a career gap, short tenure, or low experience?+
These don't automatically make someone unemployable. The right approach depends on why the issue exists and what the rest of the profile looks like. We focus on presenting your experience honestly while positioning your strongest, most relevant work effectively. We don't recommend hiding career gaps, inventing experience, or exaggerating responsibilities.
How involved do I need to be once I sign up?+
You don't have to figure everything out yourself — but your involvement still matters. We'll need accurate information about your experience, preferences, goals, and job-search decisions. Depending on your program, you may also need to review drafts, provide documents, attend sessions, or participate in interviews and outreach. Think of CareerDrift as handling the job-search backend, not replacing you in the hiring process.
What happens if I don't get results during the program?+
We review what's happening instead of simply continuing the same strategy. If applications aren't converting, we can reassess factors such as target roles, profile positioning, application quality, market conditions, and response patterns. However, hiring outcomes depend on employers and market conditions, so we cannot promise that every candidate will receive a job offer or a specific number of interviews.
Can I cancel the service if I'm not satisfied?+
Our cancellation and refund terms depend on the program you've purchased and the stage of service delivery. You'll be shown the applicable Refund Policy and terms before making payment, so you can review them thoroughly before purchasing.
Why should I pay for CareerDrift when I can optimize my resume using AI?+
You absolutely can — and for some people, that's enough. The problem is that a job search isn't just a resume-writing exercise. You still need to decide what roles to target, how to position your experience, which keywords matter, how your LinkedIn and Naukri profiles support that positioning, which jobs are actually worth applying to, how to approach referrals, and what to change when applications aren't converting. AI can help you create content. CareerDrift focuses on the strategy and execution behind the job search. That's the difference between improving a document and improving the system around your job search.
